RTC Next Restaurants at Reston Town Center: Openings and What's Next

The newest part of Reston Town Center filled in the same order as a day. RTC Next is the stretch around Opportunity Way and Inspiration Street, near the Silver Line station. Through spring 2026 it offered toast, smoothies, pastries and cookies. Its first sit-down dinner opened in late July. The alehouse and the Italian restaurant that would add more evening options are still waiting on licenses this October. On the older side of Town Center, the restaurant corner of the Spectrum is between tenants at the same time. If you live or work near the town center, much of your dinner map is changing this fall.

Mornings Came First

The first wave in RTC Next mostly served people on foot during the day. In opening order:

  1. Toastique opened at 11990 Inspiration Street, Unit 2A, on March 13, 2026. It serves toast, smoothies, juices, bowls and coffee.
  2. Paris Baguette soft-opened at 2004 Opportunity Way in April, according to FFXnow. By June 4, Greater Reston Living was reporting it open.
  3. MidnighTreats, the vegan cookie shop, reopened at 1826 Discovery Street on Saturday, May 16.

One service got there before any of the food. Molly's Dog Care has been operating at 11992 Inspiration Street since December 2024. Livewell Animal Hospital is now listed as open next door at 11993 Inspiration Street. On Inspiration Street, then, the dog daycare came first, more than a year before the coffee and toast.

Smaller daytime counters can usually open sooner than full restaurants. A sit-down restaurant with a bar needs a larger build-out and an alcohol license. That difference explains the rest of this year's timeline.

Clarity Brought the First Big Dinner Room

Clarity, the RAMMY-winning restaurant from Vienna, opened its second location at 1996 Opportunity Way on July 24. FFXnow reported it had originally been expected in the spring but needed more time for permitting.

Compared with the daytime spots, Clarity is much bigger. It covers 4,500 square feet, with about 175 seats inside and 40 on the patio. It serves lunch, happy hour and dinner and hosts private events. The menu brings over dishes from the Vienna original, including halibut, steaks and chops, French onion soup and foie gras. New items include a smoked wagyu cheeseburger with smoked chili cheddar, a six-course tasting menu and a to-go menu.

Clarity's owner, Viswanath Vasireddy, is also behind the next opening up the street. He told FFXnow that Reston was chosen for its growth potential. His next project is a very different kind of restaurant.

The AC Hotel Building Holds the Next Two Openings

The AC Hotel and Residence Inn building on Inspiration Street has the two restaurants most likely to change evenings in RTC Next. Here is where each stands as of the latest public updates:

  • Dogfish Head Alehouse, 11995 Inspiration Street. It takes 7,550 square feet on the building's second floor. A sign permit was started with Fairfax County on September 28, and its beer and wine license is still pending with Virginia ABC. The owner's target is October 2026, but no opening date had been announced as of September 30.
  • Grazie Nonna and Grazie Grazie, 2000 Opportunity Way. Grazie Nonna, an Italian restaurant, and Grazie Grazie, its sister deli, were reported as sharing a 5,609-square-foot ground-floor suite. The plan includes pizza and pasta, lunch sandwiches and larger dinner plates. The original spring 2026 target has passed. The Town Center listing still says "Coming Soon," and the beer and wine application is pending.
  • Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House, 1975 Opportunity Way. It is listed by the center as "Coming Soon." No opening date has been published.

Dogfish Head will be a more casual evening option than Clarity. FFXnow has described the menu as craft beer with burgers, pizzas, salads and smoked barbecue. Vasireddy owns the Reston location and runs it independently under a licensing agreement with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Delaware. The opening also brings the brand back to Northern Virginia. Its Seven Corners and Greenbriar Town Center locations both closed, and a co-owner told FFXnow the Seven Corners rent had become "unfeasible to run." Reston will be its first Virginia location since then.

The alehouse first aimed for summer. That target slipped, and the owner moved it to October. Clarity also missed its spring target because of permitting. October is still the alehouse's plan, not a confirmed date. Pending ABC licenses are now the main thing holding up both Dogfish Head and Grazie Nonna.

Across Fountain Drive, the Spectrum Is Turning Over Too

While RTC Next adds dinner spots, the Spectrum is replacing some of its own. Not Your Average Joe's closed for good on July 15 at 1845 Fountain Drive, the prominent corner building.

That building is getting a brand-new restaurant. The family behind Guapo's, which started with a single Tenleytown restaurant in 1990, is opening Guapo's Mar y Tierra there. It is neither the full-service Tex-Mex cocina nor the Guapo's Go taqueria found in Herndon. The name means "sea and land," which FFXnow read as a hint at seafood. The preview hiring flyer also listed pizza cooks. As of FFXnow's July 27 report, the menu and opening timeline had not been shared.

One more Spectrum space has been empty longer. The former On the Border building at 11880 Spectrum Center, about 7,000 square feet, has been vacant since February 2025. Leasing materials cited by FFXnow showed two available spaces in the Spectrum, and this was one of them.

Taken together, sit-down dining at Reston Town Center is changing in two places this fall. In RTC Next, dinner restaurants are opening for the first time. In the Spectrum, an established corner is waiting for its next tenant.

An October Calendar Built Around a Changing Dinner Map

The fall event calendar falls on the same weeks these openings are expected. Several events bring big evening crowds to a town center whose restaurant lineup is in flux.

Date Event Details
Saturday, Oct. 3 DogFest at the Pavilion 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Oct. 8 to 12 Washington West Film Festival LOOK Cinemas
Saturday, Oct. 10 Rocktoberfest 5 to 11 p.m., Virginia Coalition, Everything, headliner Vertical Horizon
Saturday, Oct. 17 Chalkfest 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free to attend
Sunday, Oct. 25 Trick or Treat Beyond Market Street Noon

DogFest is today, and it fits Inspiration Street, where a dog daycare was the first tenant and an animal hospital is now open next door. Rocktoberfest runs until 11 p.m. on October 10. For that night, the only confirmed sit-down dinner in RTC Next is Clarity, whose patio has 40 seats. If Dogfish Head opens on schedule, it could be ready in time for the film festival or Chalkfest, but nothing has confirmed that.

After October, the calendar moves into the cold season. The ice-skating pavilion is set to reopen November 6, 2026, and run through March 14, 2027, weather permitting. The Reston Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting is on November 27, with the parade at 11 a.m. and the tree lighting at 6 p.m. That evening is the next big test for the town center's dinner lineup. By then, RTC Next may have an alehouse open upstairs at the AC Hotel and an Italian restaurant downstairs, or both may still be waiting on licenses.
