Waterview Cluster was designed in 1965 by award winning architect Chloethiel Woodard Smith. As its name implies many of the two and three story townhouse have beautiful water views of Lake Anne with the remaining situated on lushly landscaped wooded lots. The townhouses in this beautiful community have a charming mid-century modern meets cottage vibe. They are light and airy, with very inviting interior spaces. The mix of size and styles, some tall and skinny others short and square make for a unique and charming neighborhood. Like most of Reston, Waterview Cluster is very walk-able with paved walkways leading to Lake Anne Village Center and Reston Town Center. There is currently one active listing in Waterview Cluster.
The Waterview residents I know are unwavering in their affection for their neighborhood; they seem to share a kind of collective recognition that they live some place unique.

Twice I tried to buy in Waterview Cluster—the first time I couldn’t convince my then husband to make the leap! It was the model with the roof top deck right on the water. It needed a lot of work but it would have been worth it! The second time was just a few years ago; it was a smaller unit with an intact loggia room that fully opened to the near water level deck. I was enthralled; even though by contemporary standards it was small, just 2 bedrooms and 2 baths on 3 levels. I wanted it so badly I could taste it. Unfortunately it went to a higher bidder. I’ve sense spoken to the new owner—they to are enthralled.

I forgot to mention the loggia rooms. They were available on the waterfront models and were originally completely open or had sliding door systems (really walls of glass), that opened to the lake. They had amazing pebbled concrete floors. Pretty spectacular!

I lived in Waterview from 1977 to 1989 and loved
it. Why? House has an “open” feeling to it, close to the lake and the plaza, a feeling of
community, lots of greenery, nice neighbors…..it was great.

Hello,
I enjoyed your website very much. I have lived at lake anne for a few years with my family for a while and we loved it. Currently the house is let and we are thinking about selling it. It is a beautiful end unit in Waterview cluster. Do you think there is a market for it at this time?
I would appreciate feed-back.
Thank you,
regards, Nina
